In occasione del loro 40° anniversario e della compilation 40 Licks che lo accompagna, i Rolling Stones andarono in tour nel 2002 e 2003 con il loro Licks Tour. Un totale di 117 spettacoli ha avuto luogo in stadi, arene e club. La performance che la band ha dato al Madison Square Garden di New York nel gennaio 2003 appare ora come un doppio CD + BluRay. La scaletta consiste nei più grandi successi dei primi 40 anni della band, tra cui Start Me Up, Angie, Gimme Shelter, Brown Suger (con Sheryl Crow) e Midnight Rambler, oltre a tagli profondi come When The Whip Comes Down e Thru And Thru.
